Who we are
ABA Clinic & Consulting is a brand of Aba - Análise Comportamental Aplicada, Lda, tax number (NIPC) 510535496, with registered office and clinic at Rua de Itália, n.º 1, r/c C (Loja 1C, Urb. Quinta de São Gonçalo), 2775-407 Carcavelos, Portugal.
We are the controller of the personal data collected on this website. For any question about your data, write to info@abaclinic.pt or call +351 930 686 247 (charged at Portuguese mobile rates).
What data we collect and why
We only collect the data we need in each situation:
- Booking and paying for the first appointment. Name, phone, email, the chosen day and time, the format (in person or online), the reason for the appointment and, if you wish, a message and, for the invoice, your tax number and billing address (address, postcode and town). We use this data to book and confirm the appointment, contact you about it and issue the invoice. Legal basis: steps prior to a contract and performance of the contract; invoicing is a legal obligation.
- Pre-registration for courses. Name, email, organisation, role and the chosen course, so that we can let you know when enrolment opens. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Contact requests. The data you enter in the form, to reply to your request. Legal basis: steps prior to a contract or our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
- Newsletter. Your email, only after you confirm the subscription in the email we send you. You can unsubscribe from any email or by writing to us. Legal basis: your consent.
We do not sell data or use it for advertising.
Who we share data with
We use a few service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only for these purposes:
- Cloudflare: hosting of the website and of the database of bookings, registrations and contacts, stored on servers in the European Union.
- Microsoft (Microsoft 365): the clinic's email and diary, where appointments are recorded.
- Stripe: processing of online payments.
- Certified invoicing software and accountants: issuing invoices and meeting tax obligations.
Some of these providers belong to groups based outside the European Union. In those cases, transfers are protected by the mechanisms provided for in the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep data
- Paid bookings and invoicing data: for the period required by tax law (currently 10 years).
- Bookings not completed (payment abandoned or cancelled): up to 90 days.
- Course pre-registrations: until enrolment for the course opens plus 12 months, or until you withdraw consent.
- Contact requests: as long as needed to reply and up to 12 months afterwards.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its processing and receive it in a portable format, and you can object to processing. Where the basis is consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Just write to info@abaclinic.pt; we reply within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).
We protect data with access restricted to the team members who need it and with encrypted connections.

The texts, images and the ABA Clinic brand belong to ABA Clinic or are used with permission. They may not be reproduced without prior consent.
Bookings, cancellations and refunds
- Confirmation. A first appointment booked on the website is confirmed once payment is received. You will receive the payment receipt and an invitation with the day, time and place by email, or the video call link if the appointment is online. The invoice is issued by ABA Clinic.
- Cancelling at least 24 hours in advance. This is free of charge: we refund the full amount using the same payment method or, if that is not possible, another available method such as a bank transfer, within 14 days at the latest. If you prefer, instead of a refund we book another date.
- Cancelling less than 24 hours in advance or not attending. The amount is not refunded. Exceptional circumstances, such as sudden illness, are considered case by case.
- If ABA Clinic has to cancel. We offer a new date or refund the full amount, as you prefer.
- Late arrival. The appointment ends at the scheduled time, so as not to delay the next person.
